H.ESSERS ESTABLISHES A FOOTHOLD AT THE FORMER FORD SITES IN GENK

On 23 February, the ground fzefe zufybreaking ceremony for our new trimodal mega site, H.Esserlace at the former Ford sites in Genk. This sfejkr iurzgerite, which will mainly focus on advanced logistics services for the chemical sector, will not only provide a large amount of state-of-the-art warehouse space,

it also offers new possibilities for optimising our supply chains.

The choice for the location is no coincidencfefezfv e. On the one hand, the site at the Albert Canal will offer the ideal opportunity to transport chemical goods via water and by rail in addition to conventional road transport. This will allow us to schedule transports more efficiently for our customers. On the other hand, with the development of Genk as a logistics hotspot, we aim to emphasise our belief in the advantages of Belgian Limburg within the Euroregion.

H.Essers Drpected to be operational in November 2018. One of the first customers we will welcome at the new site is VWR (Avantor), a multinational distributor of products and materials for laboratories.

The new trimodal hub along the Albert Canal, which will feature 30,000 m2 storage space in the first phase, not only offers numerous logistical advantages for our customers, but also sustainable solutions for the environment and employment in the region. When all the construction phases have been completed, a total of 160,000 m2 of storage space will be available and 420 people will have a new job.
